Walter Keith Brown was born on December 19, 1962 to the late Walter Abraham Brown and Willie Mae Brown. Walter was affectionately known as “Keith” to his family or “Walt” to close friends.
Keith was baptized, confirmed and served as an acolyte in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia.
Keith received his education in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1980. Throughout high school, he played tight end for Lincoln’s football team and ultimately won the league title in 1979. Keith’s athleticism earned him a scholarship to play football at Howard University.
In 1981, Keith met his wife, Elizabeth, and they were united in holy matrimony in 1986. From their union, they had three children.
Over the years, Keith had various leadership roles in the mortgage industry and then later collections. He enjoyed life, barbecuing, cooking, trying new foods, watching cooking shows, playing pranks, telling jokes, and having a good time. Keith loved working with his hands, fixing things around the house, football, and listening to funk and jazz music. He was a passionate, lifelong Eagles fan and loved watching them each week.
On Friday, March 3, 2023, God called Walter home. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Elizabeth; three children, Ashley Michelle, Walter Andrew, Blair Orlando; one granddaughter, Arianna Bacon; five sisters, Deborah Carter (William), Janice Brown (Anthony), Karen Patterson, Kimmie Mornesi (Phil), Cheryl Nelson (James); one brother-in-law, Lorenzo Harris (Sandra); three nephews, Dr. Raymond Patterson, Kevin Harris, Corey Harris; four nieces, Kelley Carter, Torrie Mullen, Krystal Nelson, Brandi Nelson; and a host of family and friends.
