Sharon White Obituary

SHARON JENKINS WHITE was born on Saturday, September 19, 1953 to the late Ronnie and Hattie Thompson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She was raised in a loving home with her five sisters and four brothers.   Bobbi Morris, Connie Sandlin, Debbie Thompson, Barbara J. Thompson, Terrie L. Thompson Washington, Kenneth Thompson, Bruce Thompson; two brothers preceded her in death, Ronald A. Thompson and Edward L. Thompson.

Sharon married Roy Jenkins at an early age and from that union they had two children, Tawanda and Troy Jenkins.  Later, she met and married the love of her life, George White Jr. and from this union they had, one son, Geo’Ron.

After graduating High School, she attended several local schools including John Roberts Powers Modeling School, Philadelphia Radio Announcer’s School, Memorex Customer Engineering, New Jersey Real Estate School and college where she studied several courses.

Sharon worked at Zarelli Cleaners, Memorex, GTE, and Re/Max American Homes Realty.  She met her husband, George, when she applied for a modeling position at Fashions Unlimited.  Furthering her career, she received her Real Estate License and worked as a Realtor until God’s call.

Soon after relocating to New Jersey, she joined St. John Baptist church, in Camden.  Sharon knew God was the center of her life and wanting to give back to him all he had blessed her with, she worshipped him with her faithfulness.  She devoted most of her time loving, supporting and praying for her family, doing whatever God had called her to do.  Her compassion was the epitome of a gentle woman; she listened and never judged. If you asked her a question, she would say… “Let me get back to you before I give you a wrong answer.”

Sharon was a strong willed woman, faced with many adversities and she believed that whatever she put her mind to do, she would do it.  She loved life and the greatest joy that filled her heart was her family, especially the family gatherings that would last for days.  Her favorite pastime was listening to spiritual music and praising God.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, Sharon took flight and received her wings at the age of 66.  She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, George White, Jr.; two sons, Troy and Geo’Ron; one daughter, Tawanda; five grandchildren, Zachary and Amber Jenkins, Sha’Kyra, Geovohny and Javohn McAllister; two Stepsons, Sinclair Hill and Jordan Johnson; one stepdaughter, Taly O’Dell; one godchild, Tyrone Harris; Sisters and Brothers; three sister-in-law’s, Dora Brooks (James), Carolyn Hill (Glendell), Doris Thompson (Kenny); two brother-in-law’s, Delevear White (Sharon), Kermit White (Evelyn); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many relatives and friends.
