October 2nd 1934 saw the birth of Runell Wynona Hawk to parents, Junell Prophet and Willie Hawk in Sylvester, Georgia. Nell as she was affectionately referred to was one of eight sisters and four brothers.
Nell graduated from Tifton County High School in 1953 and went on to study electronics at OIC.
Her hobbies were planting flowers and sewing which she went on to excel at producing beautiful garments for both friends and family.
After relocating to Philadelphia, Nell met and married David H. Lewis. They remained married for 59 years before he preceded her in death in 2015. Their union produced three children, Christopher, Chander, and Henderson.
Neil was employed by Arties Inc. for 15 years before she retired. She went onto become an active member of Reformation Church.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024 God called Nell home. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: three children, Christopher, Chander, and Henderson; five grandchildren, Alisha, Paris, Nijah, Tanisha (Dvon) and George; great-grandchildren, Israel, Sarai, Kenya, Zia, London; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
