Roland Milton Jr. Obituary

Roland R. Milton Jr. was born on May 9, 1956 in Fort Dix, New Jersey.  He was one of three children born to the late Roland Milton Sr. and Doris Robinson.

As a member of a military family, Roland travelled all over as a child, and was educated in several schools throughout the Northeast region of the country.  He graduated from ________ High School.

Roland took some college courses at the University of Maryland, and discovered his love for cooking as a young man.  He studied to become a chef, and eventually settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He worked as a chef for the Rittenhouse Hotel, Bryn Mawr Hospital, and most recently at Citizens Bank Park for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Roland had many hobbies – while cooking was his passion, he also enjoyed watching sports, action films and murder mysteries, and was well-versed in politics.  He was an avid socialite, who was well-known for his impeccable sense of style.  Roland wore his dress clothes both to and from work, often accompanied by one of his famous fedora hats.

Throughout his lifetime, Roland’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He was proud of his five children, and loved them and their mothers dearly.  His family will fondly remember his tough spirit and gentle, loving heart.

On Saturday August 1, 2020, God in His infinite wisdom called Roland home.   He leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to: his five children, Milton III, Jenell, Asya-Shane, Brandon, and Kyndall; his loving fiancée, Patrice; one brother, one sister, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and many special friends.
