Deaconess Patricia D. Dorrah was born on May 27, 1946 to the late James Wesley Howland and Cleo Tina White-Howland in Abbeville, South Carolina.
Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Philadelphia, where she attended Saint Elizabeth Elementary and graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls' High in 1963.
Pat worked at General Electric for many years and met the love of her life, Marion H. Dorrah. They married on July 20, 1968. They adopted a son, Anthony L. Dorrah in 1971. Pat was an area manager at the Philadelphia Bulletin and from there she explored many entrepreneurial ventures including owning and operating her own Hot Dog Cart that could be usually found in the Lasalle University District and owning her own Janitorial Cleaning Services operating in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area. It would be remiss not to include the fact that Pat always cared for others by providing employment opportunities to family, friends, and even neighborhood children at all the jobs she held. Pat ran a tough ship. If you worked for her, she would ensure you got the job done efficiently the FIRST time. Pat was a manager at Murray's Steaks, but her last and final most enjoyable position was at Altman Management Company managing various property sites.
Let's not forget Pat’s passion for sewing. There were numerous Proms, Wedding Dresses, and even professional boxing shorts that Pat blessed so many great memories. Pat was a Deaconess at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church which was a church family she deeply loved.
On Monday, October 11, 2021, the world lost our beloved Deaconess, Patricia D. Dorrah. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving, husband, Marion H.
