Norman Gladston Thomas fondly known as Bing was born to Charles Thomas Sr. and Ida Bonney Thomas in Colon, Panama on December 4, 1939.
Bing started his career in carpentry after graduating from an apprentice program. He then moved to the United States and became an entrepreneur starting his home remodeling business, T and W Remodeling. He later transitioned to a new career as a building inspector for the state of New York where he retired in 2012.
Bing loved cooking. Just by tasting, he could tell the ingredients in any meal. He also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. He spent time listening to his collection of 5000 songs from Spanish and Caribbean artists. He was a history buff. He loved reading, studying and collecting historical information and biographies. Anytime there was a history debate he was in the middle of it. He loved a good joke and was a jokester. He had a dry sense of humor. He would say something funny that would have everyone in tears and he would be totally serious barely cracking a smile.
Bing was a very giving and loving person, always taking care of others. He worked hard to provide for his family.
Bing was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Ida, his brothers, Hector (Sky), Eddie, and his sisters, Molly, Sylvia and Ruth.
On Friday, December 2, 2022, God called Norman “Bing” home. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Roslyn Thomas; children, Roger, Carla, Vanessa and Tamika. He leaves his legacy of love and memories to: grandchildren, KyAnna, Kaleb, Adrianna, Daniel, Norman, Vanessa, Jessica and Mickell, and brothers, Charles and Joshua. He is also survived by his In-laws, Lynette and Kenrick; nephew, Jason, and by many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends that were brothers and sisters to him.
