Obituary

Morgan Fiona Powell was born on February 11, 2003 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania the daughter of Ambroze and Valerie Powell. Morgan was a loving and compassionate person who loved to be silly. Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile could light up even the darkest of rooms.

Morgan accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bibleway Baptist Church of Mt. Airy in April 2011. She was raised up in the Church and was an active member who attended Sunday School faithfully and sang on the Angelic Youth Choir. Morgan loved her church family and would often volunteer to help in the kitchen for afternoon service.   

Morgan was a student in the Cheltenham School District and graduated from Cheltenham High School in June 2021 where she served as President of the Poetry Club. Morgan found beauty in nature and could spend hours outdoors reading, writing poetry, or staring up at the stars dreaming. Morgan was extremely talented. She was a student at Philadanco and studied Ballet and Jazz for 5 years. Morgan also studied the piano under musician Stan Davis.

Morgan’s gentle spirit made her a magnet for young children. She loved them and they loved her. Morgan worked most weekends, holidays and every school break over the past 9 years babysitting for her 3 cousins Evelyn, Alicia, and Laylah whom she loved dearly. The joy that radiated from Morgan when caring for them was blinding. Morgan was dedicated and took her job as a babysitter seriously. Well that’s not totally true; she didn’t actually sit on the babies.  

Morgan left this world suddenly on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Her love of life didn’t come to an end with her death but will live on in the fond memories she shared with those she loved. 

Morgan leaves to cherish her memories: her parents; Ambroze and Valerie Powell of Cheltenham, grandparents; Clarence and Mozelle George of Wilmington NC, uncle; Antonio George of Wilmington NC, brother and sisters; Ryshawn and Jayda of Cheltenham, and Shanniel Powell of Montreal Canada, and loved ones; Lashanda Wilson, Jerimiah, Jahmira, and Javontae; 5 special friends, Raven, Brooklyn Candace, Imari and Tim and a host of cousins, Church families, Classmates and friends.
