Mitchell Hansford, Jr. was born on October 7, 1956, in Washington, DC, to the late Mitchell and Helen Hansford.
Mitchell was educated in the District of Columbia Public School system. Upon completing his education, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, demonstrating a strong sense of duty and commitment.
Known for his outgoing personality, Mitchell enjoyed sports and had a genuine love for meeting new people. He lived life on his own terms—unapologetically and authentically—leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Helen Hansford, and his brothers, Willie White, Scott, and Terrance Hansford.
Mitchell departed this life on March 25, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of independence and individuality. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Takida Hines of Baltimore, Maryland; grandsons, Maurice and RaQuan; great-granddaughter, Kaliyah. He is also survived by: sister, Helena Hansford; sister-in-law, Yolaine White; nieces, Delonda, Aresa, Brittany, and Diane; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Mitchell will be remembered for his free spirit, resilience, and the unique way he chose to live his life. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
