Michael Daniel Curry

The Obituary

Michael Daniel Curry was born to the late Charles Lee Curry Sr. and Rosalyn Joyce Curry on December 22, 1995 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Michael was the youngest of four children.

In the year of 2001, the Curry family moved to Elkins Park, a suburb of Philadelphia, where Michael received both his middle and secondary education via the Cheltenham Township school system.  While at Cheltenham High School, Michael played both Junior Varsity and Varsity football along with being a member of the Black Scholar Program.

After high school, Michael attended and graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania where he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Management.

Michael “dabbled” in music, writing unique rap songs and collaborating with other aspiring musicians in the Philadelphia area. He released a mixtape after graduating high school in 2014. He also exhibited a natural talent for playing the drums and began doing so at an early age.

Following the passing of his father in 2018, he became the primary physical caretaker for his mother, Rosalyn. During this time, he never lost his ambition and spirit. He dreamed of starting his own business and regularly reviewed his college materials for guidance. He always talked about creating an empire with his siblings.

Michael had a unique personality. He was an individual and wanted success not only for himself—but for his family and friends. He had an awesome sense of humor and always embodied confidence. He held a unique view of the world and made a lasting impression on everyone he came to know. He hoped for and strived for excellence.

Without warning on Friday, January 15, 2021, God called Michael home.  He leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to: his mother, Rosalyn; siblings Nicohle, Charles D. Barnes, and Charles II; cousins Kenya, Kenyatte, Noni, Cameron, David, Davell, Natasha, Ashley, Jessica, Kascey, and Kathey; aunts Diana, Youlanda, Gwendolyn, Linda, Glenda, Wanda; uncle, Ronald (Laura, deceased) and a host of other family and close friends.
