Mary Ellen Byron was born on December 2, 1935 in Saluda, South Carolina. The daughter of Curtis Alfred Anderson, Sr. and Irene Anderson. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age.
Mary is the eldest of 13 children, 11 of which preceded her in death.
She was educated in the Saluda and Conshohocken school systems. Continuing her education, she graduated nursing school and also pursued other jobs.
Because of blindness, Mary was forced into early retirement. She became a member of the National Federation of the Blind – local Greater Philadelphia Chapter and a member of the Associate Service for the Blind also Carousel House.
Mary met and married Clarence Byron on May 8, 2007. God in His infinite wisdom called Clarence home on Monday, March 21, 2016.
On Friday, June 9, 2023, Mary was called home. She leaves to mourn: sister, Esther Jacobs and a host of relatives and special friends.
