The Obituary
Margo Williams was born December 10, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest of two children born to the late Louis and E. Mildred Williams.
Margo attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Hallahan High School. She matriculated at Fisk University, a historically black college in Nashville, Tennessee, for two years. She then returned to Philadelphia and attended nursing school at Pennsylvania Hospital where she earned an RN degree in 1964.
Margo accepted employment with Pennsylvania Hospital as a head nurse in their Obstetrics department from 1964 to 1991. She returned to college and graduated from LaSalle University with a BSN degree, also in 1991. The remainder of her career was spent working in the pediatric unit at Pennsylvania Hospital.
In her spare time, Margo had many hobbies. In her youth, she enjoyed dancing, ice skating, and attending overnight camp where she was taught to hunt and horseback riding. Later in life her passion for travel led her to numerous destinations in the United States, Canada, and abroad.
Margo loved the Lord and was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Philadelphia for many years.
On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, the Lord in His infinite wisdom called Margo home. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to: her brother, Louis Williams III and his wife, Dorothea; her niece, Marcia Wheelock-Williams and her nephew, Mark Wilkerson; and a host of other loving relatives and many special friends.
