Laurie G. Henderson

Laurie G. Henderson of Lindenwold, New Jersey, passed on after a brave battle with
cancer on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Jefferson Stratford Hospital in Stratford, New
Jersey, surrounded by several members of her family and the love of those both living and
departed.
 

Laurie was born on May 10, 1956, with her twin sister, Lita, beside her. Her mother,
Gwendolyn, and her father, John Phillip, brought Laurie and Lita into the world in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Laurie spent most of her life in Camden County, New Jersey.
 

Laurie’s relationship with her family, friends, and co-workers exemplified her true life’s
philosophy, which she espoused until her final days: Treat others as you would wish
to be treated yourself. Her spirited conversations were always sparked with hope,
positivity, humor, and laughter. Laurie will always be known as a person who had extreme
compassion for those in need. Her random acts of kindness would exude peace and charity
to everyone to whom she could make contact, wherever she went.
 

Laurie and her sister, Lita attended Cherry Hill East High School. Both sisters were
creative, witty, fun and highly intelligent. As they grew, they channeled their energy into
creative artistic expressions. Laurie attended Moore College of Art for her training in
visual art. Lita attended Temple University. Both sisters created photos, drawings, paintings
and jewelry that drew people closer to them.
 

Joyfully, Laurie joins her two sisters, Lita Anne Smith and Terri Leigh Pierce, as well as
her father, John Phillip. Laurie is remembered by her mother, Gwendolyn, as well as many
loving cousins and extended family members, many friends, all of whom will cherish her
memory and the light she brought into our lives.
