Karen L. Scott “Kay-Kay” as she was affectionately known, was born in the city of Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Rosalee Scott, on April 16, 1959.
Karen received her formal education through the Philadelphia Public School System and received her degrees from The Community College of Philadelphia and Temple University. Karen loved children and deeply enjoyed her career as a teacher.
At an early age, Karen accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She spent all of her adult life in fellowship and worship at the Corinthian Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of many organizations at her beloved church.
Karen was a talented crafter. On any given day, you would find her crafting at her desk via facetime with her beloved sister Michelle. Karen also loved holidays and spending time with family and friends. Even as our family gatherings had to change in recent years, she still enjoyed joining the family via Facetime.
Karen dedicated her life to service. She was an educator, a nurturer, mentor, friend, sister, aunt and so much more. She was our beloved “Kay-Kay” and we will miss her dearly.
On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, GOD in His infinite wisdom called home our beloved Karen home. She was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph & Rosalee Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory: two sisters, Michelle Dent and Josephine Sherman; brother-in-Law, Rogers L. Dent Sr.; nephews and nieces, Ronald Jones, Jessica Jones, Sherie Brooks, Anthony Brooks, Roger L. Dent Jr., Leetrice Dent and Anitra Dent; great nephews and nieces, Hasheen Wallace, Jarrett Brooks, Jordan Jones, Joshua Jones, Justin Brooks, Justus Brooks, Jayla Jones, Jaedon Jones; god-daughter, Janay Reynolds; and a host of friends that also became her family, Mrs. Viola Pryor, Mrs. June McNeil-Brown, The Loadholt Family, Ms. Carolyn Barrett, Netsia and Ahyne Philogene.
