Obituary
James L. Oliver, SR., made his entrance into this world on July 9, 1955, and transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on September 15, 2022.
James is the youngest son to Pearlee Oliver and the late James Oliver. James was educated in the Philadelphia Public school system and earned his high school diploma at Murrell Dobbins High School in 1973.
On March 23, 1981, he entered the US Army where he served overseas in Germany as a Specialist before honorably leaving the military on July 6, 1983. Returning to the US, James took on odd jobs until he came across his career as a Package Handler at UPS. He worked at UPS for 28 years and retired in 2020.
James was a loving and caring individual with a big heart. He always had a great sense of humor which made everyone who encountered him laugh. James loved cars of any type and was an avid lover of Philadelphia sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. James loved a good party that involved dancing. He would take the floor and show off his mesmerizing moves to the ladies. If you didn’t catch him dancing on the dance floor, you would likely find him playing in the casinos from time to time.
James departed from us on September 15, 2022. He will now be rejoined with his father, James Oliver. Left to cherish his memory is his mother. Pearlee Oliver, his children, James L. Oliver Jr. (Antania), Malcolm Oliver, and Tamara Hill, his bonus daughter (Katrina), his grandchildren, Autumn, Ayaan, Azhar, Alijah, & Ayden, his brother, John Oliver, his nephew. John Oliver Jr. (Tasha), niece, Regina Peaks (James), and a continued host of family & friends.
