Howard Steven Lomax, son of the late James M Lomax Sr. and Joan M Lomax was born on July 6, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Howard was the middle child. He was a very special son, brother, and uncle who always seemed to be smiling.
In November of 1960 Howard entered the Hamburg State School and Hospital. At Hamburg, Howard would go to make several friends and was known to have a kind and jovial spirit. Howard resided at The Hamburg State School for over 50 years.
Howard was fond of the outdoors. In the summer he loved to go swimming in the pool or sit in the grass with family and friends. During the day you could find Howard watching cartoons or listen to music.
Howard enjoyed family visits. He knew that his mother would always have his favorites: fried chicken, a Tastykake, and an orange soda just for him. After having his lunch, he enjoyed having his father hold his hand and rub his head so that he could take his afternoon nap.
Howard always had a charming smile, especially for the female nurses. He would love hearing them call him “Howie”. When he heard his nickname, he would have the biggest smile and then give out a hearty laugh that could be heard across the room.
On July 1st, the Lord called Howard home to rest from pain and illness.
Howard was preceded in death by his father James Sr, mother Joan, nephew Howard Steven who carried his name with honor, Godmother Caroline Jones and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Howard’s memory will always be cherished by his siblings James M Lomax, JR (Patricia), Sharon Lomax. Nephew Derrick and Neice Shaquanna, Great nephew and nieces Devon, Alexis, Alise and Steven. Uncle George Lomax (Gloria) and Great Aunt Sarah McClinton. Loving Social Worker Ann Marie Andracchi, family friend Gladys Lee, and a host of cousins.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Lomax Family
