The Obituary
Esther Deloris Pitts, daughter of the late Ray Blow and Mary Blow, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 5, 1939. She was the second oldest of three children.
Esther was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. She furthered her occupational skills by attending Apex school of cosmetology, where she etablished her Beautician’s license, as well as her Manager’s license through the state of Pennsylvania. She maintained a career throughout her lifetime as a self-employed beautician, and also worked for many years alongside Ms. Charlene Grant at her beauty salon.
Esther met Howard Pitts in 1963, and the two were wed in August, 1966. This loving union produced one son, Kelga (‘‘Kelly’’).
Esther enjoyed travelling, dining, going to the casino, and attending her grandchildrens’ sporting events.
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, God in His infinite wisdom called Esther home. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to : her husband of 56 years, Howard H. Pitts ; one son, Kelga (Theresa) ; two grandchildren, Tenae and Kyle Pitts ; one sister, Charlotte ; one brother, Roy (who preceded her in death) ; two brothers-in-law, James Pitts and Charles Pitts ; one sister-in-law, Rose Pitts-Coleman ; three nephews, Eric, Sylvan , and Dustin; four nieces, Terrace, Chelsea, Dayna and Tara ; and a host of other loving family members and many special friends.
