Daisy Lattimore Obituary

Daisy Regina Lattimore (née Whitehead), affectionately known to friends and family as Grandbee, was born the oldest of five children on October 29th, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Reuben Whitehead and Essie Mae Dobbins.

Daisy was educated in the Philadelphia School System and after graduating high school, she did domestic service work for several families on the main line, as well as the Heinz family (ketchup mogul). She later decided to continue her education at OIC workforce and career development center. Daisy later began working for PNC Bank (formerly Provident Mutual) in the 1970s. She had an incredible work ethic and worked her way up the ladder, becoming one of the first African American Female loan officers at that time. After working for 20 years, she retired in the early 1990s.

Daisy married James Edward Lattimore in the 1940s and from that Union, her only child Victoria Regina Anderson (née Lattimore) was born November 15th, 1948.

Daisy was a praying and God-fearing woman who always had her Bible and Book of Psalms with her. She particularly loved the 91st psalm, which is the psalm of protection. She also enjoyed sharing this information with her Granddaughters, especially in times of need. Daisy enjoyed being sociable and was very well traveled. She visited several countries, but particularly loved when she went to London and Paris. She also loved raising and spending time with her Granddaughters and Great Grandchildren. Daisy loved traveling with her brother Reuben and her sister-in-law Betty to Virginia and to the Casino in Atlantic City on many occasions. Daisy loved being on the go and helping others. She would often take her Granddaughters to the Reading Terminal for Fishers Amish Pretzels and Papaya Juice. She also had a love for fishing. In her later years, she enjoyed bargain shopping, thrift stores, and watching some of her favorite tv shows including Judge Judy and Dateline. Daisy also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles games with her Granddaughters and Great Grandchildren. During the final 20 years of her life, she enjoyed living with her oldest granddaughter Wendy Wilson Miller and her Great Grandson Adam Miller.

Daisy was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 29th, 2022 at Manor Care Nursing Home in New Jersey. She leaves to mourn in passing her loving and devoted Granddaughters, Wendy Wilson Miller, Jeordian Anderson, and Joelle Anderson. She also leaves her only living sister, Drexel Forman. Daisy had 5 great grandchildren: Adam Miller, Keith Scutchings III, Christopher Scutchings, Denvyre Carroll, and DrueBella Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Essie Whitehead; only child, Victoria Anderson;  sister, Ruby Romaine Whitehead Jefferson; and brothers, Reuben Whitehead JR and Ralph Whitehead. Daisy also leaves to mourn in passing a host of other relatives and friends.
