Clara Delago Obituary

CLARA DELAGO was born on January 26, 1941 to the late Junius Brown and Clara Spencer.  She graduated from Dunbar High School in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Clara met the only love of her life, Lester De Lago, while strolling on the boardwalk in Atlantic City NJ in 1959.  They married a very short time later, and were inseparable for some 57 years, like peas in a pod as her older sister Eunice often put it.  They had a wonderful union, that yielded 4 children.  They were her pride and joy.

Many said her favorite hobby was too talk about her children.  They all later married and made her a proud grandmother of 8.  If it was one thing that Clara loved to death in this world, it was her family.  All who knew her, knew that they were her life, and that she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.  She and her husband had a love for automobiles.  She loved nothing more at times but just too ride.

For many years, Clara was a homemaker, for which many say she could have won many awards.  Her kids often said she ran a tight ship.  Her home was always the best up kept on the block.  She did venture out into the workforce after her kids were grown.  She worked some 15 years for the Upper Dublin School District, a job that she was very proud of, adored and worked hard at.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, God called Clara home. She is survived by: her 4 children, Cherrie Montford(Ray), Robin Matthews(Melvin), Lester De Lago(Vanessa), and Jeffrey De Lago; 8 grandchildren, Ray, Lauren, Alicia, Paige, Johnicka, Christina, Trae, and Simone; 4 great grandchildren, Davin, Kierra, Liam & Isabella; as well as a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
