The Obituary
Carrie Mae Johnson was born September 4, 1929 in Marion Station, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Stanley Johnson and Mildred Davis. Carrie was educated in the Maryland public school system and graduated from High School,
Carrie met the love of her life, Kenneth H. Johnson and the two united in marriage on July 16th, 1954. This loving union produced three sons: Wayman, Kerry and Warren. Wayman and Kerry preceded Carrie in death.
Carrie held a few different positions in her lifetime, but the bulk of her professional experience was spent as a clerical worker with the Hanover Corporation. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and cooking, church activities and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Carrie was baptized at an early age and maintained a love of the Lord throughout her lifetime. When the family moved to Philadelphia, she became a member of the St. Paul’s Methodist Church where she attended regularly until her health began to fail.
On Saturday morning, October 8th, 2022, God called Carrie home, where she joins her sons, Wayman and Kerry, brother, Carl Johnson, and sisters Margaret Johnson and Lovenia Mitchell. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to: her husband Kenneth Johnson; son Warren Johnson; granddaughter, Tara Sutton; grandsons Grant Sutton, Blake Sutton, and Asher Sutton; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and many special friends.
