Bobby King was born on June 17, 1944 to the late Carrie King Charles and the late Roosevelt (Shot) Hunter (Six siblings preceded him). Bobby received his formal education in Darlington, South Carolina.
Employment History: Wilson Goode & Company, Eagle Wing Associates, Inc, Carson/Kent Join Venture, Healy & Long, Inc, DeAngleo brothers, Inc, Bobby worked on projects such as the Liacouras Center, Comcast Center, Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, Wells Fargo Center, La Salle College High School, and the Federal Department of Corrections on Arch Street Philadelphia. Where he retired from a proud member of local 57. He worked alongside his wife at her daycare when he was laid off. Even after he retired, he still worked in the daycare center.
Family History: Bobby met Sylvia when she was 16yrs old, she left South Carolina after graduation. And they met again in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The married on June 20, 1968 from this marriage three children were born to this union and one adopted child eight years later. Bobby Andre, Timothy, Stacy Leola, and Niema Nicole.
Interest/Hobbies: Bobby liked building, cooking, painting, and gardening. Enjoying family time with his grandchildren, which he helped raise. He loved sitting on the porch or in the backyard and going on long walks. Every holiday, he would cook a feast for 15 to 25 people. He enjoyed watching baseball, football, and wrestling, while drinking Heineken.
Bobby departed this life on October 24, 2023, while in Jeanes Temple Hospital of Philadelphia. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Sylvia L. McNeil King; two sons, Bobby Andre and Timothy; two daughters, Stacey Leola and Niema Nicole of Philadelphia; Grandchildren, Timia, Tamera, Taylor, Tia, Jimique; great-grandchild, Kyour; siblings, Authur Charles (Bernadine) of Ansonia, Connecticut, Woodrow Charles of Darlington, South Carolina, Gloria Jean Charles Jackson of Darlington, South Carolina, Lillie May Charles of Darlington, South Carolina, Preston Charles of Washington D.C., Clifton Charles of Columbia, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Mary McNeil-Miller; one brother-in-law, George McNeil; and a host of nieces and nephews.
