Anna Lee Irvin (Owens) affectionately known as “Ann” or “Banana” was born on October 16, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Hilda J. Owens and Frank Lee.
Anna will be remembered for her many talents, but most of all her love for her family. Anna was blessed with the gift of seeing beauty in all things. She was an amazing decorator, dresser, and a talented singer. Anna cherished her family and close friends. She would tell you her most important achievement was raising her children and loving all who loved her back. Anna loved hard and she enjoyed life to the fullest. Whether she was creating by way of cooking, decorating, or planning a gathering, her goal was to share the love she possessed in her heart.
Anna attended Philadelphia Public Schools and completed many trades such as childcare services, home health, residential services and so much more. She rarely took a break from growing and learning. Anna enjoyed the simple things in life like good food, spending time with friends, and singing the night away. Anna was a beautiful, free-spirited, generous, kind, and powerful woman. She touched so many lives in her short time on earth. Most importantly, Anna was a God-fearing woman and gave her heart to God in Jesus’ name as a young woman.
Anna transitioned peacefully in her sleep at her home early Thursday morning on April 6, 2023. Those left to cherish her memory include: her life partner, Lamont Jenkins; daughter, Ameenah McCann-Woods; son, Willie D. Conyers Jr.; son-In-law, Lorenzo E. Woods; grandson, Lorenzo E. Woods Jr.; six siblings, David, Linda, Robert, Juanita, Frankie, James; and a host of family and friends.
