Alfonzo Kennedy was born December 26, 1938, in Hartsville, South Carolina to Elouise and Thomas Kennedy. He attended and graduated from Edward Bok Vocational-Tech High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shortly, thereafter Alfonzo enrolled into the United States Army.
During his time in the U.S. Army, he served as Staff Sargent and an officer in the Military Police. While serving in the army he spent a great deal of his life abroad in Germany, Korea, and many other countries as an avid traveler.
Alfonzo was affectionately known to his family as “Pistol”. He loved to help and support his family and friends due to his kind-hearted nature. In addition, to being a support to family and friends he was also an entrepreneur and inventor who created board games and music inspired by famous African Americans throughout his life. He served as a role model an inspiration to his nieces and nephews encouraging them to reach their fullest potential in life. Alfonzo did not have any children of his own and was particularly fond of his nephew Vincent, niece LaTonya and her grandson Mason, and he loved all his family very much.
Alfonzo, was the youngest of five siblings, his siblings James, Melvin, and Carol proceeded him in death, He leaves to cherish his memory; his sister Ethel (Ms. Juanita), whom he refers to as “Nita”, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
